Micro/Minichipping |
|
Why microchip?
In 2016, microchip ping will be compulsory for all dogs throughout England and Wales. Thousands of dogs are lost each year and some pets are never reunited with their owners or worse never find a new home.
What is a microchip / minichip?
The microchip is a minute glass capsule, about glass capsule, about the size of a grain of rice however, the new mini chip is even smaller, designed specifically for small animals. It contains an identification number that will link you to your pet.
Where is the microchip site?
The microchip is inserted just under the animals skin, between the Shoulder blades.
How long does it take to insert the microchip?
Just a few minutes, by the time you have completed your registration form, your pet will have an ID that is specific facilitating traceability.
How does it work?
Your pet when chipped is now registered for life. But, if the unthinkable happens, your pet, when found, will be scanned to detect your pet's microchip number. The number is registered with Petlog and Ani-Log. Petlog will contact you, so that you and your pet can be reunited. Ani-Log will hold all your information as backup to insure against lost paperwork.
