Servicing Schedules

We carry out maintenance servicing on a wide range of car and light commercial vehicles using only quality parts and lubricants. Illustrated below is a sample schedule for petrol engined vehicles showing the different operations involved in Major, 30 point, 6000 mile and lubrication services.
We do not offer fast-servicing, we pride ourselves on thorough servicing.

1. Check operation of external lights, wipers, washers & horn.        
2. Check seatbelt condition & operation.        
3. Check/set headlamp alignment.        
4. Inspect tyres & wheels including spare.        
5. Check/adjust tyre pressures including spare.        
6. Check cooling system & hoses for condition & visible leaks.      
7. Check Antifreeze strength - minimum 30%.        
8. Check/clean engine breather.        
9. Check/top-up carb dashpots.        
10. Check fanbelts for wear & adjustment.        
11. Refill windscreen washer bottle including additive.        
12. Check/top-up battery, clean & grease terminals.        
13. Check/top-up brake & clutch master cylinders.        
14. Check/top-up power steering reservoir.        
15. Replace Spark Plugs (check or replace if long life plugs).        
16. Check distributor cap & HT leads.        
17. Check & lubricate throttle cable & linkage.        
18. Replace air filter cartridge.        
19. Clean air filter cartridge.        
20. Clean/change cabin pollen filter.        
21. Check clutch adjustment & cable.        
22. Change engine oil & filter.        
23. Check/top-up gearbox & axle levels.        
24. Check wheel bearings for excessive play or roughness.        
25. Inspect & check operation of shock absorbers.        
26. Inspect road springs/hydrolastic system.        
27. Inspect steering & suspension, check joints.        
28. Lubricate steering & suspension as required.        
29. Inspect driveshaft & steering rack gaiters.        
30. Inspect driveshafts & couplings.        
31. Check front brake components for condition, operation & leaks.        
32. Check rear brake components for condition, operation & leaks.        
33. Check handbrake mechanism for condition, operation & grease.        
34. Inspect brake pipes & hoses for condition & leaks.        
35. Inspect visible fuel tank, pipes & hoses for condition & leaks.        
36. Inspect exhaust system condition.        
37. Check underside of vehicle for corrosion - visual check only.        
38. Check/set dwell & timing if applicable.        
39. Check idle speed & emissions, supply emissions printout.        
40. Lubricate door locks & hinges.        
41. Clean windscreen.        
42. Vacuum carpets, empty ashtrays.        
43. Perform roller brake test, check ABS function lamp operation.        
44. Check timing belt history & advise.        
45. Road test & report.
