In
September 2004 Michael Wares' daughter Belinda joined the company,
she has concentrated on developing new business and strengthening
relations with existing customers. Our financial year finished
on 31st October 2005 and we are pleased to announce a 35% increase
in sales.
Unfortunately that does not mean an increase in profits because
we have heavily invested in new kitchen units, new crockery, 6ft
round tables and a host of other equipment. We no longer buy any
2nd hand equipment and are steadily renewing all equipment.
Durham
& Haughall college who have hired a food production kitchen
unit for some time decided on change of policy and we recently
have changed that kitchen into a student teaching kitchen. We
had specially designed 900 x 900mm food preparation stations in
stainless steel, we put in new cookers, new lights and gave the
kitchen a thorough deep clean. The result a state of the art youth
culinary centre to encourage students to enrole at Durham &
Haughall once they leave school.
We
finally gave up Glastonbury Festival. We were for a number of
years the preferred supplier of LP Gas equipment. I am getting
too fat and too old to trail 600 miles up and down about 6 times
in a fortnight, the experience was invaluable, a lot of laughs,
wonderful variety of clients, but the loo's and the mud finally
got to me!
2005
saw much equipment going into the G8 at Gleneagles, a 45 foot
curtain-sider to the Shetland Islands games, all the kitchens
at "T" in the Park, open Golf at St Andrews to name
but a few.
The new Bond film looms and we have a Kitchen unit to send to
Budapest, Kitchens, self service equipment and refrigeration to
Pinewood studios all for our friend Peter Titterall of Premier
Caterers.
