Protocol
On arrival at the hotel after your
wedding ceremony you and your guests will be shown into
our Reception lounge where you will be offered drinks of
your choice to relax before your wedding breakfast. There
will also be a bar available.
Cutting the cake. It is our desire
to accommodate our guests wishes. If you would like to cut
the cake prior to the wedding breakfast we will organise
this. However, should you wish to cut the cake at any other
point we can accommodate this easily.
At a time of your choosing, our Master
of Ceremonies will announce the wedding breakfast and call
for all guests to be seated. Once everyone excluding the
Bride and Groom is seated in our Queensberry Suite our master
of ceremonies will then ask everyone to be upstanding to
welcome the Bride and Groom.
Once the meal is over and the coffee
and toast drinks have been served, it is time for the speeches
to take place. These are traditionally done in the following
order:
Brides Father ~ Says a few words and proposes toasts to
the Bride and Groom and thanks the guests ¨ Bridegroom
~ Replies to the Brides Father, thanks both sets of parents,
best man, Bridesmaids and Ushers and proposes a toast ¨
Best Man ~ Thanks the Bride and Groom on behalf of himself
and the Bridesmaids, then reads the telegrams
This is traditional. However, should
you have alternative ideas, these can be included. Its your
day and we are here to make it the best, so whatever you
wish, we will do our utmost to achieve for you.
Once all formalities have been completed,
you and your guests are free to enjoy the evening.
If you have chosen to have an evening
reception, we will clear the tables and re-set the room.
You can then dance the night away to the entertainment of
your choice.
The important point is that you relax
and enjoy your day.
