Scottish Nights
Ceilidh Night: A traditional Scottish Ceilidh, which has
a full Scottish sit down meal. The menu can be tailored to
suit guests if desired. This is a great fun evening, which
stretches across all age groups.
Burns Night: The traditional Burns Supper. Piping in the haggis,
speeches and reading from the great Bards writings,
followed by Scottish dancing.
Clan Night: This is a more rustic event emulating a clan gathering.
Guests are offered tartanraps and accessories to set the mood
of the evening. Bare tables and benches are deployed to simulate
a banqueting feel and fiddlers and pipers play through the
meal finishing with the Chieftains address and dancing.
These nights can be held at any point in the year.
Annual Main Events
Every year Annan holds its annual RIDING OF THE MARCHES
a historic Scottish event where horse riders ride out to the
boundaries of the area in an ancient traditional ritual. This
event takes place the first Saturday of July and is accompanied
my a pipe band competition attracting pipe bands from far
and wide. During the day there is a parade down the high street
which centers on the hotel, in the evening there is a mass
pipe band parade again down the high street and centers right
outside the hotel calumniating in the mass pipes joining and
playing the final tune a dramatic and stirring event. This
is a hugely popular event and attracts visitors to the town
from all over the world. This event has to be soled well in
advance as booking are heavy at the time of year.
And of course we have our BIG HOGMANY PARTY. The traditional
seeing out of the old and in with the new. Full sit down meal
plus buffet later in the evening, Piping in the New Year followed
by a disco into the wee small hours.
Entertainment Nights
Dinner Dance evening. Full sit down meal followed by a dance
which can be tailored to any age group.
Murder Mystery. This runs over a weekend and is hugely popular
Comedy Night. Stand up comics followed by a disco
Big Band Nights. Sounds from the 20s through the decades.
A more formal occasion but still a lot of fun for those who
love to dance.
Latin Night. Sit down meal with a real Latin menu followed
my Latin dancing. A great night for those who are passionate
about rhythm.
What to do during the Day
During the day guests may visit Gretna Green and the Old Blacksmiths
Shop, the historic romantic home for eloping couples.
The Gretna Gateway, a large retail park with designer shops
all selling at discount prices. This is a big attraction to
visitors in the area.

These and other attractions can be included into any package
to ensure guests have an interesting visit with lots to see
and do.
More Specifics Packages
We have 15 golf courses, all within easy reach of the hotel
and cover all areas of the game. From Lynx to Parkland including
championship courses. Our current golfing parties average
20 30 players
Fishing is excellent in this area with a hugh variety, from
river to pond, trout and carp fly and course.
Walking and bird watching are also very popular with parties
averaging out at 20 plus.
One area that appears to be of significant attraction is visiting
local gardens of which the South West of Scotland has some
terrific centres. We currently have 2 coach parties a year
visiting the local gardens.
