Lintels
Turkington Lintels are designed for use in domestic construction according to BS8110 Part 1 1997 and to carry loads assessed in accordance with BS5977 Part 1 1981. They will support a timber floor construction spanning up to 4.5m (Dead load 0.52kN/m 2, imposed load 1.5kN/m 2). Many features of modern construction may result in extra loading on the lintel – if any doubt exists, a structural engineer should be consulted.
Rough Faced Lintels
The concrete has an irregular surface aiding the adhesion of plaster to this area of the wall.

Pre-stressed Lintels
Turkington Pre-stressed Lintels are designed for use with a minimum bearing of 150mm at each end.
A temporary prop support should be used below all lintels spanning a clear opening of more than 1,200mm until the mortar in the wall above has achieved its design strength.
