Statement on Compostability
Corrugated Product.
Corrugated board is fully accepted as being Compostable - see SEAP website1 (numerous references, e.g.. Network Bulletin August 2004 on community composting), board suppliers' environmental statement by the Confederation of Paper Industries3.
The added processes of printing and glue have no detrimental effect on the Compostability or on the overall impact of the products, as both inks and glue are water-based, approved for release to sewer, and are wholly biodegradable.
There are generally no additives, or occasionally minimal additives which do not affect the Compostability of fibreboard products apply equally to pulp.
Products have been tested and found to fully meet maceration standards, which further confirms their Compostability.
