Riding For Life - an explanation Through our riding centre we have witnessed the marked difference that riding a horse has made to young riders who experience learning and behavioral difficulties. We have worked alongside other children's charities and children's homes and in a small way, brought another dimension into the everyday life of that child. This was not enough. We believed that we could do more. In November 2004 this belief became a reality with the forming of Riding for Life. Riding for Life is a charity specifically aimed at extending what we have already witnessed on a small scale to more children, initially in Suffolk and then we hope throughout the UK with other riding centres flying the Riding for Life flag. Our aim is to provide children who have learning, behavioral or social difficulties with a positive and healthy focus and through this to increase quality of life and a sense of self worth. Helen Thomas wrote, "In riding a horse we borrow freedom" We want our children to experience that freedom.
