War time Scientists developed a fuel ‘Catalyst’ which on contact with petrol or diesel changed the molecular structure (i.e. raised the octane or cetane values), making the fuel burn more efficiently. In the 1950’s scientists discovered that when clusters of hydocarbon molecules pass through a magnetic field they split up into smaller cluster groups, which permits more oxygen to mix with the fuel. At the point of combustion therefore more of the fuel is then actually consumed leading to less exhaust emissions.
