Precision Engraving
Precision engraving is carried out on one of a range of vertical engraving machines. Manually operated engraving enables the operator to engrave difficult materials such as wood, stone, and stainless steel, and compensate for the irregular hardness of these materials. Shown above is one of the precision tasks carried out at Cooper engraving, the reproduction of gold blocking dies engraved from a piece of solid brass. We can reproduce letters from our range of standard typefaces, or from font styles and artwork masters produced by our reprographic department.

Our logo depicts the traditional hand engraving tools still used today at Cooper Engraving to produce the intricate designs on dies used in the manufacture of lace paper doyleys. This work is carried out by less than a score of craftsmen around Gt. Britain, and as yet cannot be reproduced by machine. The roller illustrated here would take between two & three months to complete.

Glass Engraving
Decorative and commercial glass engraving are carried out on the premises. This process involves the production of a template, which is bonded temporarily to the surface of the glass. The image is formed when the glass is abraded away leaving a translucent image of the required design. A range of crystal glassware is available, or we will undertake to engrave glassware supplied by the customer. As with all our
work, artwork can be designed, or matched to your own specifications.
