OUR POLICY: To raise the highest quality plants and to sell them with honest advice
in a beautiful and peaceful garden setting
Welcome to new updated Plant List for 2007 which replaces previous lists.
Compared with reports heard 'on the grapevine' of other nurseries and garden centres, we had a better year than many so are very grateful to all our customers who kept gardening throughout the long hot summer. We did fewer outside events and Farmers Markets, however our outlet at Hilltop Farm, Hunningham – a ‘real’ farm shop, has continued to work well.
During the last 12 months, we have acquired a number of new (to us) plants, particularly shrubs, which are being trialled in the garden. Some of the less good do-ers have been deleted from the list; no one wants weak, miffy or dull plants! During the year we have added drainage and resurfaced the sales area to keep your toes drier! No more sog! Also we now have some nice new display benches – built in Philip’s ‘Heroic’ style – and more are planned, as we are finding it more difficult to bend down as time creeps on.
2007 is our TENTH year, and we are planning some special events – WATCH THIS SPACE!!
The garden is open every day under the NationalGarden Scheme; we do ask for a donation (we suggest £1 per head) into the charity box provided. Details can be found in the NGS "Yellow Book"
About 90% of the plants in our Plant List can be seen growing in our garden
The garden continues to be open for evening visits from gardening clubs or other groups.
These are always very enjoyable, so please contact us for more details if your group would like to visit us.
We now have Bedding Plants in season, carefully chosen by us for best value.
Christine is available to give illustrated talks to garden clubs – again please contact her for details of this.
We look forward to welcoming new and regular customers throughout 2007 and hope they will enjoy our rather special site as much as we do.
