Workshop
3 miles from the historic centre of the City of Canterbury you will find my studio/workshop in the village of Broad Oak. I feel very fortunate to be able to work from my home, a 17th Century thatched cottage. It is one of the few original old buildings left in Broad Oak although further along the lane is an even older property which is mentioned in The Doomsday Book. The workshop backs onto apple orchards and woods which attract abundant forms of wildlife into our garden. Sparrowhawks, woodpeckers, kingfishers, foxes and stoats visit here and sometimes I can find myself staring deep into our pond studying the dragonflies, newts, frogs and toads when I should be working!! Shown here is a selection of traditional hand
tools that you will find on my workbench.
